Auf Deutsch

Hallo, wie gehts du? Ich heisse Stephen ich bin einundzwanzig Jahr alt. Dieses Jahr - that is as much German I can remember at the moment. I am trying to self teach myself some before I head over in September. I have enrolled in a language course at King's so my learning will have some structure to it instead of translating Revolverheld song lyrics. Revolverheld obviously is a German band who I heard 3 years ago now and ARE AWESOME another recommendation is Wir Sind Helden (translation we are heroes) On another musical note i've been listening to christian music currently its Jared Anderson and Paul Baloche. Thats all I have to say on that at the moment :)

Exam's Over
This is the reason why there has been no activity here as this revision period got quite stressful as those who witness realised. Hopefully I got the 50% needed to get into fourth year but really I want more than 50% as this year counts as 30% of my degree and also determines 1 - whether I can go to Germany 2 - what modules I can get 3 - my predicted grade which will get sent with all my applications for pre-registration year, speaking of which I NEED EXPERIENCE!!! so that is a high priority at the moment so hopefully I get this UCLH summer placement if not then there has to be an independent pharmacy that would let me volunteer for a month :)
Well I know I get made fun of this but I do love Eurovision and even though UK wont do well in it ever again I do like to watch it. I did like Russia's song so was happy with it (I may have been influenced by a certain person haha) Though my favourite song failed to qualify to the finals that being said I've myspaced the artist and quite like what I'm hearing though HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HE IS SAYING I guess Italian is on the list of languages I want to learn German, Tsi, Italian and Russian hopefully this list won't extend further otherwise in my spare time as a hard working pharmacist I will just be learning languages but would I have a use for them well you never know could come in handy :)
This bank holidayis application form day YAY!! got to love pre-reg applications and summer placement stuff but will be worth it in the end.

Interview
I had my interview today for a pharmacy summer student placement at a hopsital approximately 40mins away by car from Leicester so hopefully means I'll be spending my summer in Leicester (Rent FREE of course lol). The interview went well though there was one question I forgot to prepare for WHY THIS HOSPITAL?? And all that came to mind was that it's close to home and I know thats the worst thing to say oh well the rest of the interview well rather well. I seriously hope I didnt say like so many times as I've gotten use to saying like recently well since going to uni.

Time to Catch Up!!
What has happened in the last month?
Well I went to Portsmouth for a 4 day weekend which was AWESOME!!! I do love it down there the folk are friendly the area is nice and peaceful and calm. You don't have to rush around its possible to walk everywhere ah. Ruth's friends are so nice and easy to talk to. I have to say it was difficult getting on the bus back as a slight depression hit in but soon as I saw the red buses I knew I was home. No matter how much I love Pompey I know that for the mean time London is the place for me afterall I wouldnt have got into King's if it weren't, so I can cope with the hussle and bustle the not friendly folk and immense traffic :)
My Lacrossing ability has improved significantly recently as shown in the match against St Bart's. We won 9 - 3 and we are now through to the semi finals. Also got a lacrosse tournament coming up soon. The downside with lacrosse is that Im not meant to play a full match due to my darn sickle cell as I really dont want to over do it but when we dont have a full team I'm forced to play the full game and there is the tendency to over do it like in the last match where I've been exhausted for 3 days after it - fortunately it did not result in me going into hospital :)
Speaking of Sickle Cell I recently found out that I can't be a bone marrow donor, which was somewhat disheartening as it sent me through a spiral of lows and all the negatives of this disorder crept into my mind hence that weekend I wasn't very talkative - which a few folk noticed.
Revision is taking its toll but at least I've started early this year so hopefully will miss the mad rush and panic of spring break hahah ie easter holidays. I'm trying to figure out whether to stay in London for most of easter or go back home home. I know I will do more work in London, so I may just go home home for a week around my birthday. Though I do want to meet up with folks but 3rd year esxams are important especially when 4th year project and electives are all dependent on the results!
I was reminded my Stacy to talk about Lord of the Rings the Musical so we went to watch this play sometime in January. The costumes and set are AMAZING!!! Of course there are going to be chuncks missed out due to the enormity of the book and if films 9hrs and musical is 2-3 then yeah its not possible to fit everything in. It was a good play to watch me thinks and sure Stacy agree's. I was a bit let down my the music as they didnt appear to be that musically as musicals go - if that makes sense ie I didnt come out wanting the soundtrack and singing the songs. That being said I did love going to see it with my mate.
I think this post is long enough so I'll end it here, take care you folks out there.

Superbad!
Last week in Bible study we were reading through Mark 8:31-9:1 and below are some of the verse from the passage.
34And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? 37For what can a man give in return for his soul? 38For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." (English Standard Version)
We were looking at ways how to "deny oneself and take up their cross and follow him" (this is linking in with the dying everyday I learnt at TASC) and so the inappropriate conversations etc were discussed. It is interesting how just a few days after I completely forgot about this and watched Superbad with my housemates. OK so not the most amazing film ever and to be quite honest its not my type of film and I only laughed when Pete made a joke about some of the stuff. In the light of that passage I guess the best thing to do was not watch the film and perhaps tell my housemates why I shouldn't watch it but that thought never crossed my mind. There is always next time and I do still have opportunities to tell the about the Gospel hopefully I wont shy away from them.
